Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with an established Chartered Accountancy firm in central London to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting professional looking to join a supportive, client-focused practice that offers genuine career development and exposure to a varied portfolio of clients.

Working closely with managers and partners, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality accounting, tax and advisory services while building strong relationships with clients across a range of industries.

Key responsibilities as the Senior Accountant:
  • Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
  • Producing management accounts and financial reports.
  • Preparing and reviewing VAT returns.
  • Assisting with the preparation of personal and corporate tax returns.
  • Managing a diverse portfolio of clients, acting as their trusted point of contact.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team.
  • Liaising with HMRC and responding to client queries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve processes and add value to client businesses.

To be considered for this Senior Accountant role:
  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience will also be considered).
  • Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of UK accounting standards and tax principles.
  • Experience preparing statutory accounts and managing client relationships.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficient in accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar.
