Assistant Accountant (Temporary, Part-Time)Salary: £35,000 FTE (£17.95 per hour equivalent)Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:30am - 2:30pm (25 hours per week)Contract: Ongoing Temporary Assignment

The Opportunity

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join a busy finance team on an ongoing temporary basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive and capable finance professional who can quickly integrate into the business and provide immediate support across a variety of accounting duties.

This role would suit someone with previous experience in a similar position who is confident working independently and able to hit the ground running from day one.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes
• Completing balance sheet reconciliations
• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Processing journals, accruals and prepayments
• Assisting with cash flow reporting and forecasting
• Supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions when required
• Bank reconciliations and cashbook management
• Investigating and resolving financial discrepancies
• Providing ad hoc finance and administrative support to the wider team

Requirements

• Previous experience working as an Assistant Accountant or in a similar finance role
• Proven experience assisting with the production of management accounts
• Strong reconciliation and month-end accounting experience
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience using Xero is highly desirable
• AAT qualified, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or qualified by experience candidates will all be considered
