Commercial Broker

A client of ours in the Chelmsford area are recruiting a Commercial Broker to join their team ASAP. This is a full-time permanent position working Monday - Friday, 9.00am - 5.00pm and paying 27,000 - 30,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Key Duties include but are not limited to:

• Manage and develop a portfolio of commercial insurance clients.
• Build strong relationships with clients, insurers and underwriters.
• Understand client requirements and risk exposures, providing suitable insurance solutions.
• Manage new business and renewals from initial enquiry through to policy placement.
• Obtain and negotiate competitive quotations, terms, premiums and cover with insurers.
• Prepare market presentations, risk submissions and renewal documentation.
• Review policy wordings, endorsements and insurer documentation to ensure accuracy.
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell additional insurance products and support business growth.
• Maintain accurate records across broking and CRM systems.
• Ensure all advice and activities meet FCA, Consumer Duty and company compliance requirements.

Skills and Experience required to be considered for this Commercial Broker position:

• Must have previous experience within commercial insurance broking, with essential experience dealing with Fleet, Goods in Transit, Property and Construction insurance.
• Strong knowledge of commercial insurance products, markets and the placement process.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
• Confident dealing with clients, insurers and underwriters.
• CII qualification or willingness to work towards relevant CII qualifications is desirable.
• Good understanding of FCA regulations and Consumer Duty requirements.
