Senior Financial Accountant (6 month FTC) Preston (3 days in the office / 2 at home) to £58,225 + Benefits

Our client is a large and highly acclaimed organisation based in Preston and we are seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for a 6 month FTC to support in the preparation and production of the financial statements and the audit.

Duties and responsibilities :

• Prepare statutory financial statements, supporting working papers and audit information.
• Review draft accounts, disclosures and supporting narratives as required.
• Provide guidance and training to the finance team on year-end statutory and regulatory requirements, including IFRS.
• Support the preparation of VAT returns and other tax-related work, liaising with external tax specialists.
• Work with tax advisers on the development and implementation of the VAT special method, providing reports and reviewing information.
• Provide ERP reports and supporting information for the calculation of Corporation Tax provisions.
• Assist with Corporation Tax queries and the preparation of Gift Aid calculations.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring balances are appropriately supported and evidenced.
• Support new initiatives, including partner due diligence and Tax Risk Assessments.
• Contribute to improvements that enhance the student experience.
• Undertake other duties appropriate to the level of the role.

It is essential you are a fully qualified accountant with experience of working with auditors, producing financial statements and assisting with year end. It is essential you can build and maintain positive relationships internally and externally and be able to work on your own initiative.
