Accounts Assistant

Astute Recruitment are working with an established business in Castle Donington to recruit an Accounts Assistant on a permanent basis. The position would suit someone with a solid transactional finance background who enjoys variety and is comfortable taking ownership of their workload. Previous payroll or wage submission experience would be highly advantageous, although this is not essential.

The Role Will Involve:

• Managing day-to-day Accounts Payable duties
• Processing supplier invoices and payments
• Monitoring aged debt and supporting Credit Control
• Supporting weekly and monthly cash flow management
• Processing and submitting VAT returns
• Supporting weekly and monthly payroll processing
• Processing pension contributions and PAYE
• Reconciling payroll accounts and resolving discrepancies
• Supporting with P11Ds, P45s and P60s
• Liaising with customers, suppliers, accountants, banks and other third parties
• Maintaining accurate financial records and confidential payroll information
• Supporting the Finance Director with wider finance and administrative duties as required

The Ideal Candidate:

• Previous experience within an Accounts Assistant, Finance Administrator or similar finance role
• Good understanding of transactional finance and Accounts Payable
• Confident using Excel and Microsoft Office
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail
• Payroll or wage submission experience would be highly advantageous but is not essential
• Comfortable working independently and managing their own workload
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Professional, trustworthy and able to handle confidential information
• Proactive team player who is happy to support wider finance duties when required

Benefits & Hours:

• Salary: 35,000
• Permanent, fully office-based role in Castle Donington
• Monday to Thursday: 8:30am - 5:00pm, with flexibility to start from 7:30am
• 30-minute lunch Monday to Thursday
• Friday: 9:30am - 3:30pm with no lunch break
• 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
• Standard company pension contribution
