Finance Manager

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a successful and established industrial business as they look to appoint a new Finance Manager into the team to support the Financial Controller.

This is a key role within the finance function, reporting directly to the Financial Controller and taking responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the operational finance team. The successful candidate will play a central role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial reporting, while strengthening controls and driving improvements across the finance function.

You will take ownership of the financial reporting and control environment, ensuring the business has robust processes and reliable financial information to support decision-making.

Hours are 9am - 5pm with flexibility (Office based)

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting cycles.
• Owning the month-end close process and ensuring management accounts are delivered accurately and on time.
• Preparing and reviewing Group reporting submissions.
• Reviewing balance sheet reconciliations and maintaining the integrity of the balance sheet.
• Taking ownership of the financial control framework and ensuring compliance with accounting policies.
• Identifying and managing financial reporting risks.
• Managing the external audit process and coordinating statutory accounts preparation.
• Supporting tax compliance and wider statutory requirements.
• Leading and developing a team including a Finance Manager and Management Accountant.
• Providing oversight across the wider transactional finance function.
• Managing workloads, resources and team development.
• Leading improvements to ERP and financial reporting systems.
• Improving automation, data quality and reporting processes.
• Driving continuous improvement and reducing manual processes across finance.
• Supporting wider finance transformation and process improvement projects.

The role would suit a qualified accountant who has strong technical and financial reporting experience who enjoys leading a team and improving processes.

You will ideally have:

• ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification (or equivalent)
• Strong financial reporting and technical accounting experience.
• Extensive month-end and year-end reporting experience.
• Experience managing statutory audits.
• Strong understanding of financial controls and balance sheet integrity.
• Previous experience managing and developing finance professionals.
• Strong ERP and financial systems experience.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• The confidence to build effective relationships with senior stakeholders.
• A proactive approach to identifying and delivering process improvements.
• Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment would be advantageous.
