Bookkeeper

A growing accountancy practice based in Chelmsford is looking to appoint a Bookkeeper to join their team. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with clients and wants the flexibility of working predominantly remotely, with only occasional travel to the Chelmsford office required.

Responsibilities:

As a Bookkeeper, you will

• Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients, predominantly within the construction sector
• Processing sales and purchase invoices, bank transactions, reconciliations and journals
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records for clients
• Preparing VAT returns and supporting clients with their day-to-day accounting requirements
• Liaising directly with clients to resolve queries and provide practical bookkeeping support
• Assisting with month-end processes and providing information for management accounts and year-end accounts

Requirements:

As a Bookkeeper, you will need

• Previous bookkeeping experience, within an accountancy practice
• Experience working with construction clients would be highly advantageous
• Experience using accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar

Benefits:

• £30,000 - £38,000 salary
