Senior Accountant

A Senior Accountant is needed in Hertfordshire to manage financial reporting, budgeting and analysis. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate financial records and supporting the business with informed decision-making

Client Details

An organisation operating within the EfW industry and based in Hertfordshire.

Description

Ownership of management accounts, budgeting and forecasting processes

Production of accurate, timely financial reporting to support commercial decision-making

Building and maintaining robust financial models and analysis in Excel

Identifying financial and operational risks within the business and proposing practical solutions

Supporting the Finance Director on strategic and commercial projects

Managing and developing junior members of the finance team

Liaising with budget holders and non-finance stakeholders across the business

Continually reviewing and improving financial processes and controls

Profile

A successful Senior Accountant should have:

• A professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
• Strong technical accounting knowledge, particularly in financial reporting and compliance.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis.
• Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Excel skills.
• An organised approach with attention to detail and accuracy.
• The ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Experience in the EfW industry is advantageous but not essential.

Job Offer
