Are you an experienced Bookkeeper looking to join a modern, growing accountancy practice where you'll have genuine client exposure and the opportunity to develop your skills?

We're partnering with a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice seeking a Bookkeeper to join their busy team. This is a varied role offering responsibility for your own portfolio of clients across a range of sectors, including SMEs, charities and agricultural businesses.

Working closely with clients and internal teams, you'll provide bookkeeping support, prepare management accounts, handle VAT returns, and help businesses get the best from cloud accounting software.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing bookkeeping duties for a portfolio of clients
• Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Performing control account reconciliations
• Supporting clients with cloud accounting software including Xero, QuickBooks and Sage
• Providing software training and ongoing support to clients
• Responding to client queries and acting as a trusted point of contact
• Visiting client premises when required
• Supporting wider accounts, audit and payroll teams as needed

About You

You'll ideally have:

• At least 2 years' experience within an accountancy practice
• AAT qualification, part qualification, or equivalent experience
• Experience preparing management accounts and VAT returns
• Strong bookkeeping knowledge and attention to detail
• Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, Dext and Fathom
• Excellent communication and client-facing skills
• Strong organisational and time management abilities
• A proactive and collaborative approach
• Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle
