Assistant Accountant

We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Accountant to join a growing and supportive finance team in Woodbridge. This is a full time, permanent position and is fully office based. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their accounting career within a busy and varied role.

The successful candidate will be responsible for a combination of financial data processing and accounting duties. We are seeking an organised and proactive individual who is comfortable working independently and able to use their initiative when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Accurate input and processing of financial data
• Maintaining accounting records and databases
• Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
• Supporting month-end processes and reconciliations
• Producing reports and assisting the wider finance team as required
• Ensuring accuracy and attention to detail across all financial records

About You

• Ideally hold or be actively studying towards an AAT qualification
• Previous experience in an accounts or finance position
• Strong data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively
• Good communication and organisational skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

Essential Requirements

• Experience using both Sage and Xero
• Strong understanding of accounting processes and financial administration
• Ability to adapt to new systems and processes

This is a particularly exciting time to join the business as they prepare to transition from Sage to Xero, making previous experience with both platforms essential. You will play a key role in supporting the finance function throughout this period of change.
