Interim Assistant Accountant

Our client is currently seeking an interim Assistant Accountant to join their team based in Romford for a period of 9 months with the possibility of extension. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking for a temporary assignment within a supportive and busy finance function.

Working closely with the wider finance team, you will provide day-to-day accounting support and help ensure financial records are accurate and up to date.

Key responsibilities include:

• Processing purchase and sales invoices
• Assisting with accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Bank and account reconciliations
• Posting journals and maintaining accurate financial records
• Assisting with month-end processes
• Supporting credit control and resolving account queries
• Assisting with VAT and other financial reporting
• Providing general administrative support to the finance team

We are looking for someone who is reliable, organised and confident with previous experience in a similar capacity.

Ideally, you will have:

• Previous experience in an Assistant Accountant, Accounts Assistant or similar role
• Good knowledge of accounting principles
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good Excel skills
• Experience using Sage accounting software
• Excellent organisational and communication skills
• The ability to work independently and meet deadlines
