Technology Underwriter

Avencia are partnered with a leading specialty insurer who are looking to hire a Technology Underwriter into their London-based team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly collaborative and development-focused underwriting team within the Professional & Financial Risks division, focusing on Technology and Cyber products across a diverse portfolio of UK and international business.

The team manage a broad mix of business spanning SMEs, mid-market firms and large multinational organisations, with exposure across both UK and US-domiciled risks. The portfolio includes combined technology offerings covering PI, Cyber, Property, EL & GL, alongside multinational capabilities supported through both syndicate and company capacity.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a flexible and growth-focused environment, with strong exposure to broker development, portfolio growth and product innovation.

Key responsibilities

• Underwriting new and renewal technology package business across Property, EL/GL, PI, Cyber and D&O
• Managing and developing key broker relationships across both London and regional markets
• Supporting growth across delegated, package and open market business
• Identifying new distribution and coverholder opportunities
• Contributing towards product innovation and the continued development of the technology proposition
• Working closely with the wider underwriting team on portfolio growth and strategy
• Actively promoting the technology offering within the market

Skills & experience

• Experience underwriting or broking within Technology and/or Cyber lines
• Exposure across multiple lines including PI, Cyber, D&O, Property and Casualty risks
• Strong broker relationship management and business development skills
• Commercial and entrepreneurial approach to underwriting
• Interest in technology businesses and wider market developments
• Multinational placement experience would be advantageous
