Semi Senior Accountant

Andy File Associates Limited is working as a Recruitment Agency on behalf of our client with regards to this permanent position.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established and growing accountancy practice in Doncaster. Our client is looking for an experienced Semi Senior Accountant to join their team and take responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients.

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time

Location: Doncaster - DN9

Salary: 35,000 - 40,000 per annum DOE

The successful candidate will have previous experience working within an accountancy practice and will be confident preparing year-end accounts and tax returns through to review stage. You will also have the opportunity to work on management accounts and VAT returns for a selection of clients.

You will be required to be professional, organised, proactive and have a keen eye for detail, whilst providing a high level of service to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
• Preparing Self Assessment tax returns.
• Preparing MTD ITSA quarterly returns.
• Preparing management accounts for clients.
• Preparing VAT returns.
• Working with accounting software including Sage, Xero and QuickBooks.
• Liaising with clients and colleagues to obtain relevant information and resolve queries.
• Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within required deadlines.
• Managing your own workload and prioritising tasks effectively.
• Providing a professional and efficient service to clients.

Additional Requirements:

• Proven experience as an Accounts Semi Senior or Senior Accountant within an accountancy practice.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Experience preparing year-end accounts and tax returns.
• Good knowledge of accounting software such as Sage, Xero and QuickBooks.
• Audit experience would be desirable but is not essential.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Professional and client-focused approach.

Salary & Benefits:

• Salary: 35,000 - 40,000 per annum, depending on experience and skill set.
