Personal Tax Assistant Manager

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Personal Tax Assistant Manager to join a well-established and highly regarded accountancy practice in Leicester. Working closely with Directors and Partners, you will manage a varied portfolio of private clients while supporting the development of junior team members and contributing to the continued growth of the tax department.

Description

• Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring compliance deadlines are met.
• Review personal tax returns prepared by junior staff.
• Provide tax planning advice to individuals, owner-managed businesses and high-net-worth clients.
• Advise on capital gains tax, inheritance tax and income tax matters.
• Support Partners and Directors on complex advisory assignments.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact.
• Identify tax planning opportunities across the client portfolio.
• Assist with HMRC enquiries and correspondence.
• Mentor and develop junior team members.
• Contribute to the ongoing growth and success of the tax team through business development and networking initiatives.

Profile

• ATT and/or CTA qualified, or currently studying towards CTA.
• Previous experience within a personal tax role in an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of UK personal taxation.
• Experience managing a client portfolio and handling client relationships.
• Good understanding of capital gains tax, inheritance tax and self-assessment compliance.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commercially aware with a proactive approach to delivering client solutions.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise workload effectively.
• A desire to develop into a Manager and senior leadership role over time.
