Financial Controller

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Interim Financial Controller to join a well established and growing business operating within the manufacturing and construction sector.

This is a key interim appointment, initially for a period of 4-5 months, offering the opportunity to play a hands on role within the finance function and work closely with senior management and operational teams.

The successful candidate will be required to work on-site initially to gain a strong understanding of the business, its operations and the wider team. Following this initial period, there will be the opportunity to move to a hybrid working arrangement.

Lancashire based. Day rate.

The Role

As Interim Financial Controller, you will take responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day finance function and providing accurate, timely financial information to support business decision-making.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Production of monthly management accounts and financial reporting
• Budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
• Financial analysis and variance reporting
• Maintaining and improving financial controls and processes
• Supporting month-end and year-end processes
• Business partnering with senior management and operational teams
• Providing commercial insight to support business performance
• Supporting and overseeing the wider finance team
• Liaising with external accountants, auditors and other key stakeholders
• Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, processes and efficiencies

About You

We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded finance professional who can quickly understand a business and make an immediate impact.

You will ideally have:

• Previous experience as a Financial Controller, Finance Manager or similar senior finance role
• Experience within a manufacturing, construction, engineering or operationally focused environment
• Strong management accounting, budgeting and forecasting experience
• Excellent financial analysis and reporting skills
• A hands-on and proactive approach
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• The ability to work independently and hit the ground running
• Previous interim experience would be advantageous
