Part-time Accountant

We're currently working on the behalf of a company in the construction sector, who is looking for a self-employed Accountant to assist them. Predominantly, you will be providing advice to the Director on a range of accountancy matters, including:

• Reconciling current accounts, correction of any errors
• Implementing procedures and processes to ensure smooth running of the accounts department
• Advising Director of accounts positions, talking through potential solutions / outcomes
• Overseeing junior accounts staff
• Use of Xero
• Liaison with Accountants /HMRC / external bodies as needed

The company estimate that the role will be about a day per week to start, moving to a day or two per month once the processes have been streamline and brought up to speed. Ideally, you will be able to go into the office to do these hours, the office is in central Southampton and has free parking. You will need to be a strong user of Xero software, and ideally be qualified / part qualified / QBE, with experience in implementing solutions / strategic planning.
