This is a broad and hands-on role offering excellent exposure across core financial accounting responsibilities, while also giving the successful candidate the chance to play a key part in improving processes and supporting the development of a robust finance function in a rapidly evolving environment.

The role is predominantly home-based, with travel to a site in North Yorkshire approximately once every two weeks.

The Role

Reporting into the finance leadership team, the Financial Accountant will support a wide range of responsibilities, including:

• Month-end and year-end close activities
• Financial reporting and statutory accounting
• Compliance, controls and governance
• Transactional accounting oversight
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Supporting audit processes
• Identifying and driving process improvement opportunities
• Assisting the business as it scales and finance processes evolve

About You

The ideal candidate will be newly qualified and looking for an opportunity where they can make a genuine impact within a growing business.

You will likely have:

• A recognised accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA
• Strong financial accounting knowledge
• Experience supporting month-end and year-end processes
• An understanding of financial reporting, compliance and controls
• A proactive, inquisitive mindset
• The confidence to work in a fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous environment
• A willingness to get involved, ask questions and continuously improve processes
