Semi Senior Accountant

About the Role

An established accountancy practice is seeking an experienced AAT-qualified Accountant to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual with practice experience who can confidently manage a varied portfolio of clients and deliver high-quality accounting and taxation services.

The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of client accounting, tax compliance, bookkeeping and payroll while ensuring adherence to HMRC and Companies House requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and submit Self Assessment tax returns
• Prepare and submit Corporation Tax returns
• Prepare and submit VAT returns
• Manage client payroll accurately and within deadlines
• Prepare accounts and maintain bookkeeping records
• Ensure compliance with HMRC and Companies House regulations
• Use accounting software including Sage, QuickBooks and Xero
• Provide ongoing accounting support and advice to clients
• Manage multiple client accounts and deadlines effectively

Requirements

• AAT qualified (desireable)
• Previous experience within an accountancy practice
• Strong knowledge of UK tax regulations and accounting standards
• Experience preparing:
  
  • Self Assessment Returns
  • VAT Returns
  • Corporation Tax Returns
  • Payroll
  • Bookkeeping
• Proficient in Sage, QuickBooks and Xero
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload

Essential Experience

Applicants should have at least 1 year's experience in:

• Self Assessment Returns
• VAT Returns
• Payroll
• Bookkeeping
• Accounts Preparation and Corporation Tax Returns

Location Requirement: Applicants must be able to reliably commute to Gerrards Cross (SL9) or be willing to relocate before commencing employment.
