Reed Insurance London are working to support a Central London based firm to recruit a Surety & Trade Credit Broker to join their Construction team. This role involves placing Surety and Trade Credit covers for clients, supporting Sales Executives and Account Executives, and managing client relationships to issue bonds within specified timelines. Knowledge of the trade credit market is essential, and familiarity with the surety market is advantageous. The role also involves attracting new clients through various sales and marketing strategies.

Day-to-Day of the Role:

• Support and place all types of Surety Bonds and Trade Credit, advising clients on bond wordings and assisting in preparing these for insurance markets.
• Develop information from clients or prospects to determine bond requirements, collate underwriting submissions, and distribute to surety and trade markets.
• Negotiate terms and facilities with surety and trade credit markets and seek underwriter approval on bonds.
• Review and interpret company financial statements and present this information to insurers.
• Develop and maintain market relationships and issue invoices for new and extended bonds.
• Build client loyalty by providing professional, timely, and accurate service.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Cert CII, Dip CII (desirable).
• Experience in Surety and/or trade credit.
• Construction sector experience preferred.
• Strong communication skills and an excellent team player.
• Proactive and able to manage a varied workload.
• Highly numerate with the ability to interpret MI and financial data.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft 365.
• Ability to work independently and organise own workload, while being adaptable and willing to work under instruction.
