Are you an experienced Senior Commercial Account Handler looking for your next opportunity in commercial insurance broking? We are recruiting for a technically strong and client-focused Senior Account Handler - Commercial Insurance to join a growing and ambitious insurance business based in Amersham, Buckinghamshire, with a hybrid working arrangement of three days in the office.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Commercial Insurance Account Handler, Senior Insurance Account Handler or experienced Commercial Broking professional to take responsibility for complex commercial insurance portfolios while playing a key role in client retention, renewal strategy, insurance placement and technical excellence.

You will work closely with a broad range of commercial insurance clients and insurer partners, providing a high-quality broking and account-handling service while developing your reputation as a technical insurance specialist.

The Role - Senior Commercial Account Handler

As a Senior Commercial Account Handler, you will manage complex commercial insurance accounts and provide expert support throughout the insurance lifecycle. You will play a key role in ensuring clients receive appropriate, competitive and high-quality commercial insurance solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing complex commercial insurance portfolios and providing a high standard of account-handling support.
• Supporting commercial insurance renewals, retention strategies and new business growth.
• Developing and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with commercial insurance clients, insurers and key stakeholders.
• Negotiating with insurers and securing appropriate commercial insurance cover and solutions.
• Supporting insurance placement strategy, market negotiations and renewal activity.
• Acting as a technical escalation point and subject matter expert for complex commercial insurance risks.
• Providing technical guidance and support to colleagues within the commercial insurance team.
• Supporting and mentoring less experienced Account Handlers and insurance professionals.
• Contributing to client retention, account growth and overall business performance.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes, service delivery and operational excellence.
• Maintaining high standards of compliance, accuracy, organisation and client service.

About You - Commercial Insurance Experience

We are keen to hear from experienced Commercial Insurance Account Handlers who have a strong understanding of commercial insurance products, markets and broking processes.

You may currently be working as a:

• Senior Commercial Account Handler
• Commercial Account Handler
• Senior Insurance Account Handler
• Commercial Insurance Broker
• Commercial Broking Account Handler
• Senior Client Handler
• Commercial Insurance Technician
• Insurance Account Executive / Account Handler

You will ideally have:

• Significant experience within commercial insurance account handling or commercial insurance broking.
• Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance products, policies and insurance markets.
• Experience handling complex, technical or higher-value commercial risks.
• A proven track record in supporting insurance renewals, client retention and placement activity.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organisation skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple commercial insurance accounts.
• Experience working with Acturis or a similar insurance broking platform.
• The confidence to act as a technical escalation point and support colleagues with complex insurance queries.
• A commitment to professional development and technical excellence.

Cert CII or Dip CII qualifications would be advantageous. However, we are equally interested in candidates who can demonstrate strong practical commercial insurance knowledge, technical capability and a commitment to continuous professional development.
