Location: Leicester
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
Working Pattern: 5 days on-site

The Opportunity

Our client is a successful and fast-paced business based in Leicester, looking to appoint a Financial Accountant to join their finance team.

This is a broad role covering day-to-day accounting, month-end reporting, forecasting and supporting the wider finance function. The successful candidate will also have responsibility for managing members of the finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, including invoice processing and payment runs
• Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany agreements and journal postings
• Prepare accruals and prepayments and support the month-end process through to management accounts
• Assist with monthly forecasting, budgeting and basic cashflow forecasting
• Support the business through year-end audit and work with external advisors where required
• Identify and resolve day-to-day accounting issues, ensuring accurate financial records
• Complete relevant statistical and regulatory returns
• Provide support and guidance to the wider finance team, including staff management
• Assist with ad-hoc finance projects and process improvements

About You

We're looking for an AAT-qualified accountant who is comfortable working in a medium-sized, fast-paced environment and enjoys a varied role.

You'll ideally have:

• AAT qualification - essential
• Studying towards ACCA would be advantageous
• Strong ERP/accounting system experience
• Good Excel skills
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
• Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Previous experience managing or overseeing finance staff
