Legal Cashier - £35,000 - £40,000 + Benefits - Newbury, Berkshire (4 days on site)

FryerMiles are delighted to be working with a leading Law firm, who are looking to recruit a Legal Cashier to join this established finance team.

The successful candidate will support the Finance Manager and wider Finance team, ensuring financial processes are completed accurately, efficiently and in accordance with relevant Solicitors' Accounts Rules.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience within a finance environment who is looking to develop their knowledge and gain broader exposure across a professional services finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure all financial duties are carried out in accordance with the Solicitors' Accounts Rules.
• Support the Finance Manager and wider Finance Team with the efficient running of the department.
• Complete daily banking, cheque printing, signing and distribution.
• Reconcile cheque lists and daily credit sheets.
• Process conveyancing transactions and completions.
• Process and record disbursement invoices.
• Process payments including BACS, CHAPS and online banking transactions.
• Monitor and process pending client bank transactions.
• Process supplier payments and assist with purchase ledger activities.
• Analyse and process client invoices and credit notes.
• Assist with the management of residual client balances.
• Process card payments.
• Reconcile bank statements and cash books.
• Deal with incoming Finance correspondence and emails.
• Check, approve and process conveyancing completions.
• Provide general administrative and financial support to the wider Finance Team.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience working within a legal or professional services organisation.
• Knowledge of, or experience working with, SRA Accounts Rules.
• Excellent numeracy and strong attention to detail.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate professionally with colleagues, clients and external contacts.
