Description:

A well-established and family-owned company in Sunderland are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join the team on an initial temporary basis to provide additional support during a particularly busy period.

This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on finance professional who can quickly integrate into the business and support the day-to-day running of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing day-to-day bookkeeping activities
  • Processing financial transactions using Sage
  • Performing bank reconciliations
  • Maintaining and allocating nominal ledger codes
  • Supporting the preparation of management accounts
  • Assisting with month-end close processes
  • Processing purchase and sales ledger transactions
  • Investigating and resolving account discrepancies
  • Maintaining accurate financial records and documentation
  • Providing general finance and administrative support as required

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a Bookkeeper or Accounts role
  • Strong working knowledge of Sage
  • Experience with bank reconciliations and ledger management
  • Understanding of management accounts and month-end procedures
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • The ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively
  • A proactive approach and willingness to support a busy finance team
