Sheridan Maine is delighted to be working with an established and highly regarded accountancy practice in South West London, which is looking to recruit an Accounts & Audit Semi-Senior to join its friendly and professional team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a practice-trained accountant looking to develop their career within a supportive environment, working with a varied portfolio of clients and gaining valuable exposure to both accounts and audit.

The Role
This is a predominantly accounts-focused position, with approximately 70-80% of the role dedicated to accounts work and 20-30% to audit.

Working closely with experienced Seniors, Managers and Directors, you will have the opportunity to take responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients while continuing to develop your technical and client-facing skills.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing year-end statutory accounts for a range of clients
• Preparing accounts for limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
• Assisting with the preparation of management accounts
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
• Supporting corporation tax compliance work
• Assisting with audit assignments, including audit planning, fieldwork and completion
• Preparing audit documentation and working papers
• Liaising with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
• Managing your own workload and ensuring assignments are completed within agreed deadlines
• Working collaboratively with Seniors, Managers and Directors across the practice

About You
We are looking for an Accounts & Audit Semi-Senior with previous experience gained within a UK accountancy practice.

You will ideally have:

• At least 2 years' experience within an accountancy practice
• Previous exposure to audit work
• A good understanding of UK accounting standards
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills
• A proactive approach and genuine desire to develop your career in practice

You will ideally be AAT qualified or studying towards ACA/ACCA, although candidates with relevant practice experience will also be considered.
