Role Overview

The Accounts Assistant position is a hands-on role suited to an ambitious candidate with recent experience in public practice. You will be responsible for preparing draft year-end accounts and tax returns across a varied client base, as well as handling personal tax matters. Working closely with the team in our Ringwood office, you will gain comprehensive exposure to statutory compliance and client services while receiving full financial and practical backing to complete your professional qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Preparation: Prepare draft year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders, and partnerships.
• Tax Compliance: Draft company tax returns and individual personal tax returns, with a focus on landlord clients.
• Client Support: Assist senior team members with day-to-day bookkeeping, VAT returns, and client queries as needed.
• Deadline Delivery: Help manage statutory filing dates and internal practice schedules to ensure efficient workflow.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: A couple of years of experience within an accountancy practice is ideal.
• Qualifications: Part-way through AAT is preferred, but other relevant accountancy qualifications or equivalent practice experience will be considered.
• Technical Skills: Sound understanding of accounts production and tax compliance for small businesses, landlords, and individuals.
• Location: Based within a comfortable, daily commutable distance to Ringwood.

• Type: Full-time, office-based role to foster close collaboration and team support.
