Are you an ambitious Accounts Assistant looking to develop your career within a growing and highly regarded accountancy and business advisory firm?

Our client is a successful and expanding practice based in Camberley, providing expert accounting and business advisory services to entrepreneurial and high-growth businesses. Due to continued growth, they are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join their friendly and supportive team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with public practice experience who is looking to broaden their skills and build a long-term career within a professional and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of statutory and annual accounts from client records
• Assisting with the completion of year-end accounting files and supporting schedules
• Preparing draft business tax computations
• Reconciling key control accounts and understanding accounting treatments relating to:

Income, Fixed assets, Payroll, Accruals and prepayments

• Ensuring balance sheet accounts are fully supported with appropriate documentation
• Liaising with clients to resolve routine accounting queries
• Maintaining accurate and well-presented working papers

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Previous experience working within an accountancy practice environment
• A solid understanding of double-entry bookkeeping and accounts preparation
• Experience preparing statutory and annual accounts
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• A proactive attitude and willingness to learn and develop

Systems Experience (with some or all would be advantageous):

• Xero
• QuickBooks
• Sage Line 50
• IRIS
• Excel, Word, Outlook
