Description:

Are you an experienced accountant looking for a role where you'll have real client exposure, modern systems at your fingertips, and the opportunity to develop your career within a highly respected business?

We are delighted to be partnering with a successful and growing independent accounting firm in Suffolk to recruit a Senior Accountant for their outsourcing team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking firm that combines the quality and variety of clients often associated with larger firms, with the supportive culture and flexibility of an independent practice.

If you've worked within a practice environment at any stage of your career and enjoy building strong client relationships, utilising cloud-based technology, and providing valuable business advice, we'd love to hear from you.

As a Senior Accountant, you'll manage your own diverse portfolio of clients, becoming a trusted adviser and ensuring exceptional service delivery across a range of accounting and taxation matters. Key Responsibilities include:

  • Preparing management accounts and tailored financial reports for clients
  • Producing year-end statutory accounts and supporting documentation
  • Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, including liaising with HMRC when required
  • Maintaining and reviewing bookkeeping records using cloud accounting software
  • Preparing corporation tax and personal tax computations and returns
  • Building strong, long-term relationships with clients as their key point of contact
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team

Training can be provided in specific technical areas for candidates who demonstrate strong experience across other aspects of the role.

We're looking for an accountant who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent systems experience and a proactive, client-focused mindset. Ideally, you'll have:

  • ACA, ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualification, or be qualified by experience
  • Previous experience working within a UK accountancy practice environment; either current or previously
  • Experience preparing management accounts, VAT returns, statutory accounts and tax returns
  • Strong knowledge of cloud accounting software, including systems such as Xero, IRIS and Dext
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • The ability to manage client relationships confidently and professionally

In return, you'll be joining a highly regarded firm that genuinely values its people and invests in their development. If you're looking for a position where your experience will be recognised, your professional development supported, and your work truly valued then this is the job for you. Benefits include:

  • Competitive salary based on experience
  • Clear and achievable career progression opportunities
  • Supportive and collaborative team environment
  • Exposure to a varied and interesting client portfolio
  • Modern, technology-driven working practices
  • Comprehensive benefits package
  • The opportunity to play a key role within a growing and ambitious practice
