Senior Accountant Xero, Iris & Dext Experience Wanted Suffolk

We're partnering with a highly respected and growing practice in a city in Suffolk to recruit an experienced Senior Accountant. You will benefit from being with an independent, close-knit culture where teamwork, collaboration and individual contributions are truly recognised.

You'll work with a diverse portfolio of clients that would typically be found within larger national firms, whilst benefiting from the personal, innovative and client-focused approach that sets this practice apart.

As a Senior Accountant, you'll manage your own portfolio of clients maintain the firms' high level of service. Your role will include:

• Preparing management accounts and bespoke client reporting
• Producing year-end statutory accounts and supporting working papers
• Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, including liaising with HMRC where required
• Processing and reviewing bookkeeping using cloud-based accounting software
• Preparing and reviewing corporation and personal tax computations and returns
• Building strong client relationships, acting as trusted adviser, key point of contact.
• Identifying opportunities to provide additional support and services to clients
• Mentoring and supporting junior accountants within the team

These can be taught if you possess solid experience in other areas

We're looking for someone who combines solid technical accounting knowledge with excellent systems skills and a proactive, client-focused approach.

You'll ideally have:

• ACA, ACCA, CIMA or AAT qualification, or be qualified by experience
• Experience within a UK accountancy practice environment either current or past
• Experience preparing management accounts, statutory accounts, VAT returns and corporation tax returns - one can be taught if you demonstrate strong knowledge in other areas.
• Excellent knowledge of cloud accounting systems with proven experience using systems such as Xero, Iris and Dext (essential)
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• The confidence to manage client relationships and provide practical commercial advice
• Experience supporting or mentoring junior team members
