The role is permanent, office-based in Portsmouth, and offers flexibility once you've settled in.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting Contract Managers with financial management and decision-making
  • Analysing contract performance and explaining financial results
  • Preparing and presenting P&L information, supporting budgeting, forecasting, and month-end
  • Identifying issues and opportunities within contracts, providing commercial insight and helping managers understand the financial impact of decisions
  • Supporting business cases, tendering, and pricing exercises, liaising with clients and providing financial information where required
  • Building strong relationships with operational teams and stakeholders, attending client meetings and producing financial reports for clients
  • Supporting open-book audit requirements and providing relevant documentation


What you will need:

  • AAT Level 3 or above, degree in Accounting/Finance, or studying towards CIMA/ACCA studies
  • Previous experience in a similar role (Junior Finance Business Partner, Finance Business Partner, Commercial Finance Analyst, or similar)
  • Strong Excel skills (X-lookups, Pivot tables, PowerBi desirable)
  • A good level of commercial understanding and awareness
