Accounts Assistant

Job Title: Accounts Assistant (CIS experience essential)

Salary: Up to £33,000 (negotiable dependant on experience & qualifications already achieved)

Location: Derby

Type: Permanent, Full-Time, Office-Based

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join a well-established and growing construction business. You ll play a key role within the finance team, supporting the day-to-day accounts function, including invoice processing, VAT, CIS and payroll.

Responsibilities

• Process purchase and subcontractor invoices for construction projects
• Raise sales/customer invoices
• Process payroll & subcontractor payments
• Prepare and submit CIS returns and VAT returns
• Ensure compliance with HMRC and construction industry regulations
• Support month-end and year-end accounting processes
• Provide wider support to the finance team and contribute to ad hoc finance tasks as required

Requirements

• Experience working as an Accounts Assistant or similar role
• Previous experience working within the construction sector
• Strong working knowledge of Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) processes
• Good Excel skills
• A hardworking individual with a strong work ethic
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
• Excellent organisational and time management skills
