Finance Business Partner

Chalk Hill Group are partnering with a well-established, privately owned manufacturing business in their search for a Finance Business Partner. With succession planning in mind, they are looking for an individual who will want to grow this role and progress in the business in the not too distant future.

As the business continues to develop, they are looking for an individual to provide meaningful financial insight across their operations and help drive improved performance, efficiency and profitability. This is a hands-on, analytical role that will suit someone who enjoys getting into the detail, understanding how a manufacturing business operates and using financial information to influence better commercial decisions.

The business have sites in Bath and Devizes, with an expectation to be on both sites each week (split can be varied) with one day a week working from home, and a lunch time finish on Fridays.

The Role:

Working closely with senior leadership and operational teams, you will:

• Analyse and challenge cost drivers, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and control spend.
• Own inventory and costing elements of the month and year-end close.
• Analyse production costs and historical data to support pricing and commercial decisions.
• Provide insight into financial performance, KPIs and key business trends.
• Act as a finance partner to operational teams, challenging processes and influencing decision-making.
• Support key projects through financial analysis, cost tracking and commercial insight.
• Produce ad hoc analysis to help the leadership team make better, data-led decisions.

About You:

We're looking for someone with:

• Experience in inventory and/or production accounting, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
• A logical, analytical and systems-focused mindset.
• The ability to interrogate data, understand costings and turn financial information into clear commercial insight.
• Strong communication skills and the confidence to work with and influence non-financial stakeholders.
• CIMA/ACCA/ACA part-qualified or qualified by experience.
• Strong Excel and ERP experience would be advantageous.

The business is keen to support someone who wants to complete their professional accountancy qualification if studying, with plenty of opportunity to learn from an experienced and qualified finance team.
