Description: We are recruiting for the position of Part Time Accounts Assistant on behalf of a reputable car dealership in Crawley, West Sussex. This role is ideal for an experienced accounts professional or an AAT student seeking flexible working hours within the motor trade. The successful individual will join a friendly, professional team, handling core dealership accounts tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Benefits for the successful Accounts Assistant:
  • Pro-rata salary of up to 28,000 based on a full-time equivalent of 37.5 hours per week
  • Flexible working hours, typically between 24 and 30 hours per week
  • Core working hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. available

Duties of the Accounts Assistant:
  • Manage purchase ledger, sales ledger, and bank reconciliations accurately and efficiently
  • Post and allocate transactions on accounting software
  • Reconcile supplier statements and ensure timely payments
  • Assist with financial reporting and provide support to the Finance Department
  • Assist the Financial Controller with month-end procedures
  • Maintain compliance with industry standards and company policies
  • Contribute to ongoing banking and financial processes within the dealership
Requirements of the Accounts Assistant:
  • Proven experience in an accounts role, preferably within the motor trade or related industry
  • Familiarity with Pinewood accounting software; experience with CDK (Kerridge) is advantageous but not essential
  • Strong knowledge of Excel and basic IT skills
  • AAT study commitment or qualification is highly desirable
  • Excellent organisational skills and keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Flexibility to support a flexible work pattern
