Tax Manager / Senior Tax Manager

£50,000 - £60,000 DOE Hybrid Working Succession Opportunity

Are you an experienced tax professional looking for a role that offers genuine advisory exposure, long-term progression and the opportunity to play a key role in the future of a growing practice?

Our client is a rapidly expanding, award-winning tax-led accountancy firm with a team of 20, including 8 tax specialists. Established in 2020, the firm has built an impressive reputation advising high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, shareholders and owner-managed businesses on a broad range of complex tax matters. Their technical expertise allows them to compete with much larger firms whilst maintaining a friendly, relaxed and non-corporate culture.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Tax Manager or Senior Tax Manager to join the business as one of its most senior technical tax professionals.

The Role

Approximately 50% of your time will be focused on high-level tax advisory work, with the remainder spent managing a portfolio of complex clients and reviewing tax returns.

Projects will include:

  • Capital Gains Tax planning
  • Inheritance Tax planning
  • Corporate restructuring
  • HMRC clearances
  • Trusts and residency planning
  • EIS portfolio advice
  • RSU taxation
  • Business succession and shareholder planning
  • Tax structuring for entrepreneurial clients

Alongside advisory work, you will:

  • Manage a portfolio of high-net-worth and complex private clients
  • Review personal tax returns
  • Prepare technical reports and written advice
  • Research complex tax matters and provide practical solutions
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships
  • Prepare proposals and assist with winning new business
  • Act as a senior technical point of contact for the wider team

The Opportunity

This is far more than a traditional Tax Manager role.

You will join as the most senior tax professional in the business outside of the two Partners. This role forms a key part of the firm's long-term succession planning, offering a genuine opportunity for the successful individual to ultimately take on the practice in the future, should this be something they aspire to. The Partners are seeking someone who can become an integral part of the firm's leadership and play a significant role in shaping its next chapter.

About You

  • CTA qualified, ideally, although qualified by experience will be considered
  • Minimum 3-4 years' post-qualified tax experience
  • Strong personal tax background is essential
  • Corporate tax exposure would be advantageous
  • Proven tax advisory experience
  • Strong report writing and technical research skills
  • Excellent communication and client relationship abilities
  • Ability to work independently and provide commercially focused advice

What's on Offer?

  • £50,000 - £60,000 DOE
  • Annual profit share bonus
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Pension scheme
  • Hybrid working (minimum 3 days in the office)
  • Flexible working hours
  • No timesheet culture
  • Investment in AI and technology training
  • Exposure to highly complex tax advisory work
  • Relaxed, supportive and collaborative working environment
  • Genuine long-term progression and succession opportunity

If you're looking for a role where you can work on challenging advisory projects, influence the direction of a growing practice and potentially become part of its future ownership, we'd love to hear from you.
