Sheridan Maine is delighted to be recruiting an Accounts & Tax Manager on behalf of an established and growing accountancy practice based in West London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional to take responsibility for a varied portfolio of clients, with an even 50/50 split between accounts and tax. The role would suit someone who enjoys variety, has strong technical knowledge and is confident building trusted relationships with clients.

The Role
As Accounts & Tax Manager, you will manage a diverse portfolio of clients and oversee the delivery of both accounts and tax services.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing a portfolio of clients across a range of sectors and business sizes.
  • Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts and management accounts.
  • Managing corporation tax computations and returns.
  • Preparing and reviewing personal tax returns and providing relevant tax support.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for clients and developing strong, long-term relationships.
  • Providing clients with practical accounting and tax advice.
  • Reviewing work completed by junior members of the team and providing guidance and support.
  • Managing deadlines and ensuring work is completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Supporting the wider team with technical queries and contributing to process improvements.
About You
We are looking for an experienced Accounts & Tax professional with a strong background in UK accountancy practice.

You will ideally have:
  • Proven experience within a UK accountancy practice, with strong experience across both accounts and tax.
  • Good technical knowledge of UK accounting and taxation, including corporation and personal tax.
  • Experience managing a varied portfolio of clients.
  • Strong communication and client relationship skills.
  • Experience reviewing work and supporting more junior members of a team.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
  • A proactive and commercially aware approach to client service.
  • ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience.
