| Description: | Are you a Lead Auditor, Quality Manager or Technical Assurance professional with a background in construction or engineering? Do you have experience conducting audits, assessing technical compliance and working with contractors to improve assurance standards? Salary: Location: Birmingham or London (in office 3 days per week) I am recruiting for two Technical Assurance Auditors to join HS2, supporting the delivery of one of the UK's largest infrastructure programmes. This is an excellent opportunity to join an established technical assurance function, working across civils, stations, railway systems and utilities to assess whether contractors are meeting HS2's technical, contractual and engineering requirements. Unlike traditional Quality Management System auditing, this role focuses on technical compliance and the evidence contractors provide to demonstrate that requirements have been achieved. Audits follow structured ISO auditing principles but assess compliance against project-specific technical requirements rather than ISO clauses themselves. The role is predominantly document-based, involving the review of technical assurance evidence, contractor processes and compliance records, alongside meetings with Tier 1 contractors and internal delivery teams. Essential: Desirable Experience This is an opportunity to join HS2's technical assurance team and contribute directly to the successful delivery of one of the UK's most significant infrastructure programmes. My client is particularly interested in candidates with ISO 9001 Lead Auditor qualifications, although this is not essential for every appointment. Experienced quality professionals, technical assurance specialists and engineers with demonstrable auditing experience are also encouraged to apply. Previous rail experience is desirable but not essential. The priority is finding someone with a strong construction or engineering background who understands how to assess technical compliance and work collaboratively with contractors. The focus is on helping the supply chain achieve compliance, identifying risks early and ensuring technical requirements are being properly demonstrated, rather than simply finding faults.
