As an Audit Manager in London, you will oversee audit work across the Financial Services business, helping ensure accounting and finance activity is reviewed clearly and consistently. You will plan assignments, assess findings and provide practical reporting that helps the business make informed decisions.

Description

• Support the development and execution of the annual audit plan.
• Assess business risks, processes and control environments across wholesale banking operations.
• Identify emerging risks, industry developments and regulatory changes that may impact audit coverage.
• Define audit scope, testing strategies, timelines and resource requirements.

• Lead and execute risk-based audits across corporate banking, trade finance, treasury, capital markets and associated support functions.
• Perform detailed testing of controls, processes and regulatory obligations.
• Ensure audit workpapers and documentation meet internal quality standards.
• Deliver audits within agreed timelines and budgets.

• Identify control weaknesses, process gaps and areas of regulatory risk.
• Perform root cause analysis and assess potential business impacts.
• Agree findings with stakeholders and support the development of remediation plans.
• Track and monitor outstanding audit actions through to resolution.

• Prepare clear and concise audit reports for management review.
• Present audit findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Build effective relationships with business leaders and key control functions.
• Support audit closing meetings and follow-up reviews.

• Evaluate compliance with relevant regulatory and internal policy requirements.
• Maintain awareness of industry developments, regulatory expectations and best practice.
• Contribute to the ongoing assessment of the overall audit universe and risk profile.

• Participate in special reviews, investigations and ad hoc projects.
• Support quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives within the audit function.
• Contribute to audit methodology enhancements and knowledge sharing across the wider team.

Profile

• Internal or external audit experience gained within banking or financial services.
• Experience auditing wholesale banking, corporate banking, treasury, trade finance and/or capital markets activities.
• Strong understanding of risk and control frameworks within regulated financial institutions.
• Experience leading audits from planning through to reporting and issue follow-up.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements within the European financial services sector.

• Understanding of capital markets products, treasury operations and risk management practices.
• Knowledge of corporate lending and wider banking processes.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance, governance and operational risk frameworks.
• Experience using data analytics and/or data visualisation tools to support audit activity.

• Degree educated in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
• Professional qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CIA, CFA or equivalent is highly desirable.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to influence stakeholders and challenge constructively.
• Comfortable working independently and managing multiple priorities.
• Collaborative approach with strong relationship-building skills.
• High levels of professionalism, integrity and attention to detail.
