Based at Head Office, North of Dumfries and reporting directly to the on-site and highly experienced Financial Controller, this is a wide ranging and varied Finance Manager role created due to significant company growth/new business secured.

The successful individual will be responsible for the provision of high quality financial information within their designated region and will business partner various Directors across this interesting international portfolio. The role would suit someone driven, who can support, advice and challenge as required.

Core accountabilities:

  • Assist in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of annual business plans and budgets.
  • Assist in the development and review of new business proposals, including budgeting, risk analysis, regulations, full cost recovery and key assumptions.
  • Assist in the development of systems, tools and processes to ensuring the budgeting and forecasting process operates efficiently and effectively.
  • Support the production of timely financial reports for the portfolio.
  • Support the headline financial review (actual and forecast) of programme portfolio, assisting in the interpretation, analysis and reporting of key financial data.
  • Support the review, reconciliation and upload of various cash-books into SAGE.
  • Assist in the identification and monitoring of compliance against overseas statutory regulations, including company registration, financial reporting and taxation.
  • Carry out overseas visits to provide technical financial support and guidance, carry out compliance audits and build effective, transparent working relationships.
  • Support the production of transactional reports/documentation for grant/contract audits, liaising with the external auditors and overseas teams as appropriate.
  • Provide payments, payroll and income support to the Finance Department, including transaction processing, banking, closure of accounts etc.
  • Provide cover for Regional Finance Managers in their absence, providing financial information and support as and when required.
  • Work with the Finance Team to ensure that adequate financial systems (SAGE 200) training is provided to finance and non-finance field staff and that the system is developed to ensure optimal use in the field.

Salary & Benefits

Salary region up to £55,000 depending on skills, experience and qualification + 5% Match Pension Contribution scheme

This is a full time, permanent opportunity, however, flexible working hours will be considered for the right person.

Typical hours 08:30-17:30 (Monday to Friday)

** Some overseas travel will be required throughout the year (minimum 6 weeks - 12 weeks maximum).
