Finance Manager | Service Sector | Burton-on-Trent | £25,000 - £30,000

Macildowie Finance is currently working on a position offering the opportunity to work for a Service based business, based in Burton.

Recruiting for a Finance Manager, this job within a small team will report to the Finance Director and will produce monthly financial statements and offer support and advice to the wider business.

The Finance Manager will be responsible for the company's financial reporting, such as its monthly management accounts, annual accounts & project costings. You will be responsible for managing a small team and will look after all of the company's transactions, from accounts payable, VAT, receivables and controlling small management companies. Knowledge of using Sage 50 is essential.

So what is the job?

  • This is a role that requires balancing the hands-on financial management of a company with decision-making and execution
  • Working within a small business team, you need to be a good communicator and to understand the entire business
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, KPI information for directors and assist in providing the information for the external accountants to prepare the annual accounts
  • Review weekly and monthly payroll employed staff and sub-contractors
  • Deal with payments to suppliers, credit control and manage ledger clerks
  • Manage and process petty cash and prepare weekly cash flow reports
  • Quarterly VAT returns
  • Partner with Directors to open planned new sites in high volume business areas

  • Good maths and computer skills especially MS Excel and Sage 50

  • An ability to explain complex financial information in a clear way to non-finance stakeholders

  • Able to work within a privately owned company
  • Tenacious - someone wanting to grow within a business and add value
  • CIMA/ACCA/ACA Part Qualified- QBE will also be considered
