Location:East Grinstead, Sussex
Description: Our client is an independent firm of chartered accountants, chartered tax advisors and statutory auditors who provide consultation and quality account, audit, and business support services. The company is based in East Grinstead, Sussex. We currently need an Audit Manager. The company is growing and looking to recruit exceptional candidates with an enthusiastic and positive attitude.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

• Managing a portfolio of a variety of clients
• Managing a team of audit staff
• Dealing with complex accounting matters
• Staff mentoring

The role will involve managing the audit and accounting team working with a diverse range of clients from groups to owner managed businesses, managing their audit and accounting assignments as well as providing clients with expert business advice. Potential to become Partner in the short term is available.

Key Duties & Responsibilities as an Audit Manager:

Management of a portfolio of clients.

Overseeing the preparation of financial statements

Attendance and contributions at client meetings.

Completing audits with minimal supervision and within deadlines.

Financial management of portfolio taking control of WIP, billing and debt management.

Involvement in business development, including maintaining own key contacts and fostering new relationships.

Maintaining a good level of technical knowledge and being able to independently research issues forming your own solutions.

As an Audit Manager based from Est Grinstead, Sussex you must:

Be ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent.

Have minimum of three years' experience in an accountancy practice.

Have excellent communication skills and ability to build strong client and team relationships.

Have ability to manage complicated projects and multiple stakeholders.

Have strong technical understanding of accounting and auditing standards.

Have experience in leading group audits and the preparation of consolidated accounts.

Build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.

Produce high quality work to a good technical standard.

Have strong organisational skills to effectively prioritise high volumes of work.

Anticipate and resolve problems at an early stage to keep assignments on budget.

Identify opportunities for growth within existing client base and when to involve other service lines.

Take an active role in developing the team providing day to day support on technical and other matters.
