Job description

Investment Accountants are part or fully qualified accountants who carry out accounting duties for investment funds.

Investment Accountants provide accounting and reporting services for investment funds which must adhere to reporting rules and regulations in accordance with statutory bodies such as the Financial Services Authority.

Typical duties include:

  • Net Asset Value (NAV) production.
  • Financial reporting.
  • Liaising with fund managers and deal teams.
  • Producing investor reports.
  • Management accounting.
  • Statutory reporting.
  • Financial analysis.

Qualifications

Investment Accountants are part or fully qualified with one of the major accounting bodies. Investment Accountants should also understand the workings of financial markets and products.

Salary Snapshot

Recent salaries advertised on TopFinancialJobs (February 2010) include:

  • £45-55,000 per annum for a qualified (ACA, ACCA) accountant working as an Associate Fund/Management Accountant in a ‘market leading boutique fund' in the City of London.
  • £50-60,000 for a qualified accountant working in a Treasury Capital Issuance and Securitisation department in London.
